Model making: Models processed on CNC machines for casting in sand-clay molds (large, heavy-duty steering wheels) or casting in shell molds (small, high-precision steering wheels).
Casting: Controlled melting and pouring ensures a stable microstructure. Strict temperature control prevents defects such as shrinkage cavities, porosity or seams.
Heat treatment: Normalization, annealing or tempering to improve mechanical properties (tensile strength, hardness, toughness).
Precision Machining: CNC machined hub (square sockets, splines, keyways or threads) to ensure a tight, play-free fit on the valve stem.
Surface Treatment: Shot blasting followed by hot dip galvanizing (HDG), epoxy powder coating or anodizing (for aluminum) for corrosion protection.
Quality Control: Dimensional inspection, visual inspection and optional non-destructive testing (NDT).
